About Sangu Narayana Sanjeevi ver / Malabar Begonia Root:
Sangu Narayana Sanjeevi is a herb with a stem often reaching 2 feet long, repeatedly dividing with many leaves. The leaves are heart-shaped, 2-4 inches long, pointed, and very unequal at the base with a toothed margin. Leaf-stalks are 1-5 inches long. Stipules are 5 mm ovate, pointed, and hairless. Peduncles arise in leaf axils, rarely exceeding 2-3 inches. The flowers are rose-colored and not very numerous on a peduncle. Male flowers have 2 sepals, about 1.5 cm, round, and have no petals. Female flowers have a perianth nearly as in male flowers.
