About Parangi Pattai (China Root)
Parangi Pattai, also known as China Root, is found in shrub thickets in hills and mountains, forests, grassy slopes, and shaded places along valleys or streams from near sea level to 2000 meters. The seedlings are germinated and grown in pots for at least the first year, typically for 2 years, before being planted out in early summer. Division in early spring as new growth begins is also a common method of propagation. Larger divisions can be planted directly into their permanent positions.
