About Naaval Pattai (Jamblang)
Jambolan is characterized by its slow growth and long lifespan. It can grow up to 30 meters tall and live for more than 100 years. The tree has dense foliage, which provides excellent shade, and is often grown for ornamental purposes. The bark at the base of the tree is rough and dark grey, becoming lighter grey and smoother higher up. The wood of the Jambolan tree is water-resistant, making it useful for railway sleepers, installing motors in wells, and sometimes for making cheap furniture and village dwellings.
