Mela Nelli / Canoe Weed Dried (Raw)
Canoe Weed, known scientifically as Phyllanthus maderaspatensis, is a plant with compound leaves arranged in two rows. The leaflets are alternate, opposite, decussate, almost sessile, stipulate, oblong, and entire, measuring up to 1.5 cm long and 0.5 cm wide. The plant has a greenish-brown color, an indistinct odor, and a bitter taste. The root of the plant is small, measuring 2.5-11 cm in length, nearly straight, gradually tapering, with numerous fibrous secondary and tertiary roots, and an external surface that is light brown with a short fracture.
