About Malkan Kizhangu (Suranjan Root)
Yellow Colchicum, also known as Malkan Kizhangu, is a perennial herb found in the Himalayas. The corms are ovoid and oblong, measuring 1.5-3.5 cm in length and 1-2 cm in width, flattened at the base with a longitudinal groove on one side. The coat is brown to dark-brown and membranous. The flowers are yellow and funnel-shaped, 3-4 cm across, with six sepals united below into a long, narrow tube up to 9 cm long. The segments are linear to inverted-lance-shaped, 2-3 cm long, and pointed to blunt.
