The Brahma Dandi plant, also known as Mexican Poppy (Argemone mexicana), is a prickly, hairless, branching herb with yellow juice and showy yellow flowers. The plant varies in height between 1-4 feet. Its leaves are thistle-like, stem-clasping, oblong, multiply cut, spiny, with white veins. The flowers, which occur at the end of branches, are yellow and measure 2.5-5.0 cm across. The plant produces capsule fruits.
