About Arasam Pazham (Peepal Fruit)
Peepal, also known as the sacred fig or Bodhi tree, is renowned for its religious significance and long lifespan. It is a large deciduous tree with a pale stem and fluted appearance due to numerous fused roots. The leaves are leathery, egg-shaped, or rounded, with a tail-like tip and heart-shaped or rounded base. The young leaves are pink, turning copper, and finally green. The flowers are minute within the receptacle, and the fruit is a fig.
